How many hours do I have to volunteer for?
We ask of our volunteers to complete a minimum of 2 x 4 hour shifts in exchange for a festival ticket.
How do I become a volunteer?
You need to submit an application and to be confirmed successful.
Applications open from Monday 1st of October.
DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN TENT?
Unless you wish to book a pre-pitched Glamping package the yes, Secret Garden Festival is a BYO camping event. We recommend packing a tent, mat, pillow, sleeping bag etc.
IS THERE A VOLUNTEER CAMPING AREA?
No, all volunteers camp in the general camping areas. You have no restrictions camping with your non-volunteering friends (unless they have Vanland registration OR Glamping bookings).
WHEN DO I GET SENT MY VOLUNTEER TICKET?
Once you have been confirmed and you’ve submitted your Volunteer Agreement, (which is to pay a nominal non-refundable fee to secure your position), then you are locked in as a Secret Garden Festival Volunteer. You will receive a festival ticket via email, specific to volunteering. There will be no onsite ticket refunds for volunteering; you need to come to the festival on your volunteer ticket .
WHAT IF I'VE ALREADY PURCHASED A TICKET TO THE FESTIVAL?
WHEN DO I FIND OUT IF I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AS A VOLUNTEER?
Applications will stay open until all positions have been filled.
Confirmations will start from November 5th.
WHEN DO I FIND OUT WHAT ROLE AND SHIFT TIMES I HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED?
Shift release date is scheduled for late Jan.
All position descriptions and arrival procedures will be made available at this time.

DO I HAVE TO BE ONSITE AT A SPECIFIC TIME AS A VOLUNTEER?
It is advised you aim to be onsite a minimum 2 hours prior to your first volunteer shift, this way you have enough time to park your vehicle, get your wrist band, and set up camp.
If your first shift starts prior to gates opening, Volunteer Support will send out early entry volunteer instructions closer to the event.
CAN I ARRIVE EARLY IF I VOLUNTEER?
There are limited opportunities to volunteer before and after the festival. In the case you are assigned shifts outside of the festival’s official opening and closing you will be issued early entry instructions. Otherwise, you will be required to arrive and depart the festival within its opening and closing times.
Do I get fed?
Sorry folks but meals are not included in your ticket exchange.
We will have a “recharge station” inc. tea and coffee to support you and your awesome vibes throughout the festival.
DO I HAVE A UNIFORM?
The theme/colours of the volunteer team are “Op-shop pink and or red” Put on as much pink or as you can find in your dress up box and become part of our family before you have even met anyone!
Please note: Closed-toe shoes are required. Be practical and fun when packing for the festival.
Look ahead at the forecast, bring warm clothing, layering items, water-proof items, hat & sunnies, a torch, snacks, water bottle etc,
High vis vests and PPE will be provided where required.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD VOLUNTEER?
Be accountable, be communicative, have fun and love the experience working as a team!
Remember to ensure you pack appropriate attire for all weather conditions; work those closed-toe shoes into your costume, and BYO water bottle.
WHAT IS THE VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT?
The Volunteer Agreement outlines the engagement and expectation on you, as a confirmed participant. We utilize a payment gateway that securely stores your details which are held until successful completion of your allocated shifts. A nominal, non-refundable fee is processed so that we have your details and in the unlikely event you do not complete your shifts, or break the terms & conditions of the event, or the Agreement, you will be charged the full price of an event ticket plus a $100 administrative fee.

Terms and Conditions
All volunteers will agree to the Volunteer Agreement when confirming an offered position.
All persons who enter the festival are also held to the Terms & Conditions of entry.
